Connection not Perfection
Our world has a connection problem.
We are social creatures and we are biologically wired to need each other. We find psychological safety in belonging to a group. We want to be seen and appreciated. We crave connection.
However we feel more disconnected and isolated than ever. And this time of physical distancing has only highlighted our need to authentically connect.
Our world has an empathy problem.
We have an authenticity problem.
We have an connection problem.
AND you can be part of the solution.
Its simple. Just have the courage to be yourself and connect with eachother.
You don’t have to be perfect. You don’t have to have all the answers. You don’t need any special training. You don’t have to have your life “figured out”.
Right now just as you are you have the ability to heal the world - one authentic connection at a time.
Make the call. Send the email. Turn your camera on during your video call and look them in the eye. Take 5 min and speak with your neighbor from the sidewalk.
Listen. Hold space. See them. Let go of your Ego. Let go of your opinions. Just be there for them.
People do not need you to be perfect. People just need you to show up and be present.
They need your empathy not your perfection.
They need your attention not your perfection.
They need your kindness not your perfection.
So show up. Be real. Be brave. Be flawed. Be yourself.
Right now in all of your messy wonderful humanity you have the ability to change someones life. You have the ability to start to heal our world.
The world needs your connection not your perfection.
